East West Express Launches Portsmouth to Manchester Service

Residents in the Portsmouth – Epping – Manchester corridor and those working in the area will have a new way to travel between these cities starting November 4. Flight Line, Inc. is launching the East West Express, a new affordable service that will efficiently transport commuters, Manchester-Boston Regional Airport passengers and others. This hourly service, with 20 round-trips a day, connects two of New Hampshire’s major cities, which historically have had no public transportation between them.

Transportation will be via comfortable climate-controlled 10-passenger vans and will be ADA accessible. Fares will be $19 per person between Manchester and Portsmouth, $9 between Epping and Manchester, and $10 between Epping and Portsmouth. East West Express also offers discounts for senior citizens and Medicare recipients and has a frequent rider program at $10 each way between Manchester and Portsmouth and $5 from Epping. Reservations are now being accepted and riders are encouraged to make a reservation on the East West Express website (http://eastwestnh.com/) or their phone line (1-800-245-2525). Reservations are not required.

“We’re delighted to offer this affordable service that will allow airport passengers and work commuters to relax and travel in comfort between Portsmouth and Manchester,” said Jamie Dowd, president of Flight Line, Inc., which operates East West Express.

East West Express has received initial funding from the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration’s Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) program. “East West Express will cut emissions and congestion from commuters and airport travelers,” said NHDOT Commissioner Chris Clement. “It will reduce individuals’ trips and their emissions and fuel use.” It will also make it easier for companies to recruit across a larger portion of New Hampshire.

“We are very pleased to welcome East West Express to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport,” added Airport Director Mark Brewer. “This new service will improve connectivity between the communities of Manchester, Epping and Portsmouth and will certainly benefit travelers looking for regularly scheduled, cost-effective ground transportation options.”

The stops are located at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (across the street from the main entrance), the Manchester Transportation Center on Canal St., the Epping Park and Ride (Route 125, just off Route 101’s Exit 7), and the Portsmouth Transportation Center (Route 33, 185 Grafton Drive). There is free parking at the Portsmouth and Epping locations.

East West Express is an hourly public transportation service between Portsmouth, Epping, Manchester and Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) in NH. This service is operated by Flight Line, Inc., of Salem, NH, which has been in the business of providing professional shuttle service for more than 30 years. Reservations can be made through their website http://eastwestnh.com/ or toll-free line 1-800-245-2525.
